What we collect

• Account details: email, username, profile data.
• Uploaded files & analysis artifacts (you control/delete).
• Logs & metadata: IP, timestamps, usage telemetry, error reports (for security, abuse detection, ops).
• Optional: cookies & opt-in communications.

Why & legal basis

• Contract — to provide the service (account, storage, dashboard).
• Legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention, platform improvement. We balance these against your rights.
• Consent — for optional marketing or nonessential cookies; withdraw anytime.

Data rights (GDPR)

You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing where applicable. To exercise rights: email privacy@byteray.io. We will respond within statutory timeframes.

Deletion & retention

• You can delete uploaded files and analysis results from your dashboard. Deleted items are removed from active systems promptly; residual backups/logs may persist for a short period for recovery, security, or legal reasons.
• We retain minimal logs for abuse detection and legal compliance for a reasonable period (typically up to 12 months) unless law requires longer.

Security & transfers

Data is stored on UK/EU infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. We won’t transfer personal data outside the UK/EU without adequate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent).

Third parties

We use trusted processors for hosting, analytics, and email. They act on our instructions and are contractually bound to protect data.

Illegal content & risk note

ByteRay does not condone uploading illegal material. You accept all risks from analysing potentially illegal files and indemnify ByteRay for your unlawful uploads/uses.
